25 years ago, America woke up to a morning that would forever change who we are.
We watched buildings fall. We watched innocent lives disappear. We watched firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary Americans run straight into hell to save people they had never met.
They didn’t ask who you voted for.
They didn’t ask where you came from.
They didn’t ask what you believed.
They just helped.
For a moment, we weren’t divided.
We were Americans.
Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 souls who never made it home. We remember the 343 firefighters who answered their final call. We remember every first responder, service member, family, and community forever changed by that September morning.
The years have passed, but the promise remains.
We will say their names.
We will honor their sacrifice.
We will remember what it meant to stand together.
Some gave all.
Some carried the scars home.
And all of us inherited the responsibility to remember.
